We are excited to announce that we have added our 500th new member so far this calendar year! On top of that, Four new Tables have officially opened this weekend. Chesterfield, Elgin, Causeway Coast and Ross-On-Wye join Stockton-on-Tees and Wrexham as the six new groups opened so far this Table year.
Things are looking on the up for Round Table, and it’s great to celebrate these milestones. Officially chartered and welcomed into the Round Table Family on the 5th of October, these new Tables join the 275 currently active clubs across Scotland, England, Ireland, and Wales. With exciting early planning meetings being held with another four Locations already it’s fantastic to see the continued expansion of Round Table.
We often see the idea of a new club come when existing members relocate to an area where there isn’t an active Round Table. We call this growth, an extension, and it is often the most successful way for Round Table to expand its reach into local communities.
However, Chesterfield is an example of a club that has grown from interest outside of Round Table. Started by a small group of guys who were looking for an outlet to help their community tackle graffiti in a local park. Enquiring to form up as a Table they soon realised the benefit to their own well-being and social lives by growing a friendship group of like-minded lads looking to give back and have fun.
Elgin is our first new Scottish Round Table in a long time. It came to fruition when James relocated to Elgin from Ellon with work and realised he missed the active social life and camaraderie that Round Table gave him back in Ellon. After reaching out to the closest Tables it wasn’t long before adverts for their first social had been seen by 30 local guys and wheels were put in motion for a re-birth of Elgin 454. With 13 members inducted into Round Table officially, and several more in the pipeline it appears Round Table has a new most northern Table.
Ross-on-Wye is another example of Tablers relocating and wanting to bring fellowship and fun to their new home town. Tom and Justin were both Tablers together in Hereford. Re-locating has given the perfect reason to open a new Table which fills a void between Gloucester and Hereford. They already have their first community event on the horizon, hosting a Charity Clay Pigeon Shoot at the end of October and have managed to recruit 8 new members from the area since kicking things off at the start of the year.
Causeway Coast is our first new club on the Island of Ireland and they have grown rapidly since their inception in January. Vinny joined Armagh Round Table in the summer of 2023, Despite not being in Table long when relocation to the north coast came around he made sure to stay in touch with his brothers in Armagh. Once settled it wasn't long before the question of what to do with his weekday evenings came up and soon with the help of his friends from Armagh they had gathered a group of young guys for regular socials in Coleraine and along the Causeway Coast. Now boasting 15 members they are one of the largest clubs on Ireland!
If you are a Tabler relocating and interested in helping with the expansion of Round Tables get in touch with the Membership and Extension Team. They are poised and ready to help, guide and assist in every way to ensure Round Table continues to grow.
